Another favourite to recently depart the workshop. A classic delight - this unusual octagon halo ring is the epitome of vintage style. If you love vintage style jewellery we always recommend going for a milgrain edge. It is a beautiful delicate finishing touch which harps back in history. 

What is a milgrain edge?

A series of tiny balls running across the edging surrounding the centre stone and outer edges. 

Our stone setter adds the milgrain after the diamonds have been set. He does this using a graining tool. He creates the little balls by pushing the tool into the metal and moving it in a circular motion. Once a row of balls starts coming together the effect is stunning and the perfect finishing touch to a piece.

Although the milgrain in this example is very fine, it is also a finish which gentlemen's wedding rings can have, but using larger beads of metal.
